It is a construction carbon steel with moderate hardness values and good toughness values, making it extremely malleable and suitable for cold deformation processes such as bending. It has a percentage of carbon and manganese that makes it stronger than E235/E255/E275 steel, naturally at the expense of slightly lower toughness and weldability.

Its moderate weldability, due to its low carbon content, allows the production of both seamless and welded pipes.

The possibility of obtaining welded pipes offers advantages such as better geometry and surface appearance, although welding may pose a challenge for some specific applications.

The versatility of this steel is manifested through its ability to be supplied in different states: annealed, normalized, raw, stretched.

This steel is one of the most widely used steels, also thanks to its cost-effectiveness.

It is suitable for mechanical components that do not require high hardness or need to be cold-formed or welded. It can also be used for applications that require carburizing and quenching treatment.
